It appears Caligari has released Truespace 7.6 for free to all. It also has a download for a manual and some tutorial videos. Get it now guys. Just downloaded it and it works great. Same company that made Gamespace, which is what we use to make stadiums in MaxFB. May not be all that backward compatible with Max. Or maybe it will. Free Caligari Truespace TSX Plugins. These are the Truespace & Gamespace plugins that I have collected over the years. They are basically just Windows DLL's that are written and named especially for use with Caligari modeling software. They all have to be installed but add extra features to the modeling tools in Caligari modeling software.

I bought gameSpace, a subset (and darned powerful one) of TrueSpace.Trying to actually use the program was downright disgusting though.A buggy, broken mess of an app.It was from a codebase that was just too broken to fix, hence Caligari doing a full rewrite for 7 and up.By 7.6 they worked things out nicely, and it's actually a great program again.Caligari's been around since the Amiga days, they really had been at the forefront of 3d.This is huge news, and a free pro app by any measure. Just make sure if you have a PC and take up this lovely free offer, you get yourself a copy of milkshape for import and FBX export. You know, so you can actually use this powerful now-free app to do something you'd actually want to do with it instead of supporting Virtual Earth. (I'm sure XNA development is another agenda). This move was a good one that is so very Microsoft. Good intentions that will result in something cool, but less than elegant. They try to one-up Google Earth, buy and give out a very powerful 3d modelling tool in the hopes of getting content made for it, and will ultimately end up with a messy concoction of a virtual 'earth' and an app that most will run away from.
While the layman can play with SketchUp and produce nice little things to contribute to Google Earth.Anyway, TrueSpace 7.6 is a heck of a strong app for free. If you got a PC, you've only got 150 or so megabytes to lose in trying it.
